What we collect and why

When you join the waitlist:

• Email address — to notify you when the product launches and when your requested shade is back in stock. Nothing else.

When you place an order:

• Name — to address your order and communications
• Email address — to send your order confirmation, dispatch notification, and any order updates
• Delivery address — to ship your order
• Shade selection — to fulfil your specific order
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. CoverIt never sees or stores your card details.

When you use the AI shade matcher:

• The photo you upload is processed in real time to analyse skin tone only. It is never stored, never shared, and deleted immediately after your result is returned.

What we don't do

• Sell your data
• Store your photos
• Send marketing without consent

Legal basis for processing

We process your data on the basis of contract (to fulfil your order), legitimate interest (to manage our waitlist and notify you of relevant updates), and consent where applicable.

How long we keep your data

Order data is retained for 7 years in line with HMRC requirements. Waitlist data is retained until you unsubscribe or the waitlist closes. Photos are deleted immediately after processing and are never stored.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your data. We share data only where necessary to fulfil your order:

• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email delivery (order confirmations)
• Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection service that silently verifies you are human before processing your request. No personal data is shared beyond your IP address. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Anthropic — AI provider that processes your photo in real time for shade matching. Your photo is sent to Anthropic's servers, analysed, and not retained by them beyond what is required for abuse prevention (typically up to 30 days per their terms). CoverIt does not store your photo at any point.
• Our shipping partner — delivery of your order

All processors are bound by their own privacy policies and data protection obligations.

International transfers

Anthropic is based in the United States. When you use the AI shade matcher, your photo is transferred to the US for processing. This transfer is carried out under appropriate safeguards in accordance with UK GDPR Article 46. All other data processing takes place within the UK or EEA.

Third-party services

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). This causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address. No personal data is shared with Google beyond what is inherent in that request.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
• Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

Cookies

This site uses essential cookies required for the site to function. We also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site — this is only activated if you accept cookies via the banner shown on your first visit. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies at this time, though we may do so in future with appropriate notice.

AI Shade Matching

The shade suggestion provided by our AI tool is an estimate based on the photo you submit. Lighting conditions, camera quality, screen calibration and image resolution all affect accuracy. CoverIt does not guarantee a perfect colour match and is not liable for shade mismatch. If you are unsure we recommend ordering the shade closest to your skin tone and patch testing before full use. The AI tool processes your photo to determine skin tone only. Photos are not stored or used for any other purpose.

Products

CoverIt patches are cosmetic products, not medical treatments or medical devices. They are intended for discreet skin coverage only and are not intended to treat, cure or prevent any skin condition or disease. Always patch test before use. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Not suitable for use on broken or infected skin. Keep out of reach of children. If you have a known skin condition or sensitivity please consult a doctor before use.

Preorders

Orders placed on this site are preorders. Your payment will be taken at the time of ordering to secure your shade. Products are not yet in stock and are expected to dispatch within 4–6 weeks of payment. We will notify you by email when your order has been dispatched. If for any reason we are unable to fulfil your preorder you will receive a full refund within 14 days.

Orders and Payment

Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to cancel any order for any reason including stock errors or suspected fraud. In the event of cancellation you will receive a full refund. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. CoverIt does not store card details.

Cancellations

As your order is a preorder and has not yet been dispatched, you may cancel at any time before dispatch for a full refund. To cancel contact us at admin@coveritpatches.com with your order details. Once an order has been dispatched it falls under our Returns and Refunds policy below.

Returns and Refunds

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods without giving a reason. To exercise this right contact us at admin@coveritpatches.com within 14 days of delivery. For hygiene reasons, returned items must be unused and in their original sealed packaging. We are unable to accept returns where the packet has been opened. Return postage costs are your responsibility unless the item is faulty or incorrectly sent. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item. Faulty or damaged items will be replaced or refunded in full including postage. As shade matching is an estimate we are unable to offer returns solely on the basis of shade preference.

Waitlist

Joining the waitlist is not a purchase and does not guarantee availability or pricing. Waitlist members will be notified when the product launches. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Stock Availability

We make every effort to maintain accurate stock information. In the rare event that a shade becomes unavailable after your order is placed we will contact you to offer an alternative, a full refund or a backorder. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our control.

Intellectual Property

The CoverIt name, logo, packaging designs, shade names, AI shade matching technology and all website content are the intellectual property of CoverIt Patches Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or use any of these without prior written permission.

Data and Privacy

We collect your name, email address, delivery address and shade selection when you place an order. We collect your email address when you join the waitlist. This information is used only to fulfil your order or notify you of your waitlist status. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except where required to process your order (for example payment processing via Stripe and delivery via our shipping partner). Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law CoverIt's liability in connection with any order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses.

Age

This site is intended for users aged 16 and over.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
